Daventry District Council has recently granted full planning permission for the development of a new special needs Academy off Ashby Road in Daventry. The school will cater for pupils aged between 4 and 19 years of age with profound and multiple learning difficulties in a bespoke two storey building designed by Hunters South Architects. The site is largely visually contained by trees that are protected by a site wide tree preservation order, which posed a significant restriction to development alongside the steeply sloping site that adjoins the recently opened UTC. Define co-ordinated the planning application for the Academy and the development by BAM Construction is due to commence shortly.
