Successful negotiations with Leicester, Derby and Birmingham City Councils have lead to planning permission being granted for four schools, providing new or enhanced primary and secondary education facilities in these key urban authorities. Two of the sites, for Castle Mead School in Leicester and Derby Cathedral School (both designed by BAM Design), will result in the regeneration of former industrial sites close to the heart of each respective city, with a third scheme resulting in the combined refurbishment and redevelopment of Springfield Primary School at Tyseley in Birmingham (designed by Maber Architects). Avanti School, also designed by Maber Architects, provides learning and recreation facilities for children from nursery to sixth form age, enabling them to relocate from temporary accommodation within the City Centre. All schemes are being progressed successfully on site by BAM Construction.
