Define staff members successfully promoted the allocation of the site through the Development Plan process, and led the preparation and submission of an outline planning application for the development of a sustainable urban extension that will provide 720 new homes, 3.5ha of land for employment uses, community facilities and associated open space.  The application was underpinned by a Masterplan that sought to create an attractive and sustainable environment that responds to its landscape setting and addressed the perceived issue of separation from the existing urban area.  The scope of works also included stakeholder and public consultation, a Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment and Socio-Economic Assessment, management of the EIA process, and preparation of the Design and Access Statement and Planning Statement.  Define have subsequently led negotiations in relation to the grant of planning permission, including the negotiation of a Section106 package.
