Define were engaged to prepare and submit an outline planning application for the development of 850 dwellings, a new school and convenience retail store, and the provision of substantial public open space on this proposed allocation site. The Masterplan was the subject of an early design review that endorsed the emerging landscape-led scheme that sought to utilise the site’s features to define distinctive development areas and create a network of green infrastructure linking key features within the site and enhancing the connections between the town and surrounding countryside. The scope of work also included the preparation of a Landscape and Visual Appraisal, Design and Access Statement, and Planning Statement. Define led the negotiations with the Borough Council, and successfully secured an outline planning permission for the whole site and full planning permission for the first two phases of development.
