Following an outline masterplanning exercise for the entire Eastern Quarry site in Ebbsfleet (now known as Whitecliffe) Define have provided ongoing landscape architecture services on this prestigious site to deliver over 20 Ha of new Public Open Space within the Garden City. Our commission includes sketch design, design code information, discharging reserved matters planning submissions and detailed technical conditions along with stakeholder presentations and public consultations.
The former quarry site comprises of 3 residential ‘villages’ (circa 6000 new homes) surrounded by significant swathes of green infrastructure, parks and existing landscape features such as cliffs and lakes. Define’s role ranges from initial concept design, assisting with design codes, reserved matters applications and detail design through to construction in a very challenging yet rewarding site. The overall scheme seeks excellence through innovation as it is the largest of the NHS healthy new towns initiative; meaning health and wellbeing, and creating a community spirit in the future are vital elements to the ongoing work.
