Our client asked us to look at this important space within Ebbsfleet as it is located at the convergence point between the main road, a school access area and the routes into the existing community.  The site is also located at a natural threshold into the new Neighbourhood in Ebbsfleet, known as Alkerden.

The space

The space is based around two large vertical structures which are based upon the existing Kentish farmstead in Alkerden Barn, and form a gateway feature for people to pass through as they enter Alkerden.

Following consultation with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation we took steps to create the space with a Community focus, proposing self-grow planters, of which the local community can take ownership.
