The landscape was shaped using a latticework of paving bands that would emulate the former industrial use of the site as a linen factory. Using ‘stitches’ made from paving to connect the buildings together and to guide pedestrian movement and define boundaries.

Define prepared detailed landscape proposals to support a detailed planning application for grounds of this PRS scheme in Leeds. The proposals provided ground floor activity to the street which have been successfully used in other precedents around Europe to activate the ground floor of the surrounding public realm. We worked alongside Leeds City Council and the Highway Authoriy to work ‘outside of the red line’ in order to create a seamless scheme on the ground.

Define produced designs for the internal courtyard spaces that were situated above a podium deck which incorporated ventilation and soft planting proposals.

The scheme was granted full planning permission in 2015 and completed in 2019
